Lithuanian soprano Asmik Grigorian has withdrawn from her scheduled performances with The Cleveland Orchestra this month, citing personal reasons. The affected concerts include appearances in Cleveland and at Carnegie Hall.

Music Director Franz Welser-Möst has adjusted the program, replacing her performances with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, Leonore Overture No. 3, and selections from Janáček’s From the House of the Dead. He stated that these works reflect the universal struggle for freedom.

Grigorian is expected to return next season.
