At a press conference held by TASS to mark the 25th anniversary of the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra, the orchestra’s chief conductor, Fabio Mastrangelo, emphasized the high value placed on culture in Russia. He stated that Russia remains the only country in the world where culture holds such a significant place in society.

Mastrangelo admitted that culture and music are an inseparable part of his existence. According to him, it is in Russia that he truly feels alive.

When asked about his decision to remain in Russia after 2022, the conductor responded that he never even considered leaving. He has lived in Russia for 24 years, nearly 15 of them as a Russian citizen. Mastrangelo added that he has his family, work, and children there, so he saw no reason to discuss the possibility of relocating.
