German musicians’ 2027 diary adds a legal reference section
The DTKV pocket planner combines timetables with professional information.

The German Tonkünstlerverband has released its 2027 musicians’ diary, combining a weekly planner with reference material for teachers, performers and other people whose working lives revolve around lessons and rehearsals.
The A6 hardback uses timed weekly layouts intended for recurring appointments, concert dates and personal commitments. Its pocket format is designed for daily use, while the reference pages extend its purpose beyond a conventional blank calendar.
The new edition includes information on musical anniversaries, the collecting society GEMA, social insurance and tax matters affecting freelance artists and teachers. QR codes connect readers with the websites of relevant organisations. A new legal section is contributed by lawyer Frank Bauchrowitz.
The diary is available through music shops and bookshops at a retail price of €13.50. Members of the Deutscher Tonkünstlerverband can order through the association at €10.80, with €1.80 postage. The member offer therefore differs from the general retail price rather than replacing it.
The product is aimed at a broad professional readership, from instrumental teachers and church musicians to students and performers. Their schedules often combine several kinds of work, making the ability to see lessons, rehearsals and performances together a practical feature.
The reference material also places administrative concerns beside musical planning. Copyright collection, insurance and taxation are recurring parts of freelance working life, even though they sit outside the artistic content of a lesson or concert. The diary brings pointers to those subjects into a frequently used object.
Its legal and financial pages should be understood as general reference information, rather than an individual assessment of a reader’s circumstances. The 2027 edition’s most concrete change is the additional legal contribution, alongside a new cover design and the established combination of scheduling space and professional guidance.
