Mariinsky Theatre musicians head to Turkey

Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra will be touring Turkey from September 28 to October 2. The musicians will perform in Ankara, Istanbul, as well as in the ancient amphitheater of Aspendos and in the ancient city of Ephesus.

In Ephesus, the orchestra will perform for the first time. One of the city's main attractions is the Great Amphitheater, built in the 3rd century BC, which can accommodate about 25,000 spectators.
