MET concertmaster David Chan takes up conducting role with the Apollo Orchestra

Violinist and conductor David Chan has been appointed as the new principal conductor of the Apollo Orchestra, effective June 2, 2024. Chan, who currently serves as the concertmaster of New York’s MET Orchestra, has also taken up conducting roles with various ensembles, including the Credo National Festival. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Apollo Orchestra, known for its commitment to providing high-quality music to the communities of the greater Washington D.C. area through free concerts.
