It seems like there's been some controversy at the San Francisco Symphony recently. During an Esa-Pekka Salonen concert, an audience member, Laura Leibowitz, displayed a sign in Finnish that roughly translated to 'F*ck the board.' The orchestra's management, represented by Andrew Dubowski, contacted her and warned about the disruptive and offensive nature of her action, emphasizing that displaying signage inside Davies Symphony Hall is not allowed. They mentioned potential disciplinary actions for any repeat behavior, including removal or suspension from the hall.

Composer John Adams also expressed concerns, tweeting about the orchestra's direction under its board's austerity plan and the potential impact on morale and artistic quality.
