Turin’s Teatro Regio Opens an Eight-Date Concert Season

Battistoni begins a programme reaching into May 2027.

Teatro Regio in Turin will open its concert season on 12 November with Andrea Battistoni conducting a programme titled Estasi, beginning an eight-event sequence that continues until 17 May 2027.

Mezzo-soprano Antoinette Dennefeld joins the opening concert, which brings together Saint-Saëns, Berlioz, Falla and Ravel. The inclusion of Boléro connects the orchestral programme with the theatre’s wider Fatale operatic theme, while giving the concert season a strongly coloured opening.

The series draws on the Teatro Regio orchestra, Filarmonica TRT and the theatre’s choral resources. It also makes space for a solo recital: Grigory Sokolov appears on 15 February under the title Assoluto.

Other programmes move between orchestral tradition and different musical languages. On 18 January, Boosta—Davide Dileo—takes part in Fusioni, with orchestrations by Stefano Cabrera. Emmanuel Tjeknavorian leads the 22 February concert, including music by Loris Tjeknavorian, Shostakovich and Borodin.

Battistoni returns on 12 March for Gloria, featuring Sinigaglia and Mascagni’s Messa di Gloria, with Dmitry Korchak, Franco Vassallo and the choirs. Ariane Matiakh makes her debut on 12 April in French repertoire by Koechlin, Roussel, Fauré and Ravel.

The 28 April programme pairs Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony with Prokofiev’s Alexander Nevsky under Nicolò Umberto Foron, with mezzo-soprano Alisa Kolosova. The announced closing conductor is Felix Mildenberger, whose Radici programme concludes the series on 17 May.

The season offers a concert identity alongside the opera house’s staged work, using its ensembles in programmes that range from vocal symphonic music to a piano recital and a crossover collaboration. The opening is scheduled for 8pm on 12 November, with the remaining events distributed across the winter and spring.
