Berlin Philharmonic Announces New Recruits
The Berlin Philharmonic has recently welcomed two new members

The Berlin Philharmonic has recently welcomed two new members—Spanish violinist Raquel Areal Martinez and Peruvian violinist Eduardo Rios Silva.
At just 25 years old, Raquel, originally from Galicia, Spain, is currently a scholar at the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic. Through this prestigious training program, she has had the opportunity to perform alongside orchestra members, and she successfully passed the audition to earn a place in the ensemble.
Rios Silva, from Lima, Peru, currently serves as the First Assistant Concertmaster of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra. According to reliable sources, he is the first Peruvian musician ever to join the Berlin Philharmonic.
Both musicians will undergo a one-year probationary period before becoming full members of the Berlin Philharmonic.
