Spotify continues to see strong user growth, boosting its revenue significantly. At the same time, the Swedish streaming giant is expanding into the video podcast market, broadening its content offerings.

In Q4 2024, Spotify’s Premium subscribers reached 263 million, marking an 11% increase compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, monthly active users (MAU) grew by 12%, hitting 675 million. Both figures exceeded analysts’ expectations. CEO Daniel Ek has projected even stronger growth for 2025.

Additionally, Spotify is now expanding into video podcasts. In select countries like the U.S. and the U.K., paying subscribers can watch ad-free video podcasts. Podcasters and YouTubers will be compensated based on the number of viewers their content attracts.

Spotify’s Q4 revenue saw a 16% year-over-year increase, reaching €4.2 billion (approximately £3.6 billion), surpassing market expectations. The company reported a net profit of €367 million (approximately £315 million) for the quarter, a significant turnaround from a €70 million (approximately £60 million) loss in the same period last year, demonstrating strong profitability.
