On Tuesday evening, star pianist Lang Lang's concert at the Isarphilharmonie in Munich was interrupted by a fire alarm, causing an adrenaline rush. The hall in Gasteig HP8 was evacuated calmly and orderly. The fire brigade quickly arrived and determined the alarm was due to a system fault. Their intervention lasted only eight minutes.

Lang Lang had nearly finished his recital, so the audience missed only the final bars of Chopin's Polonaise in f sharp minor op. 44. After the interruption, Lang Lang resumed the concert, playing the Polonaise again in full and several encores.
