Moscow’s Musical Theaters Set New Attendance Record

In 2024, Moscow’s theaters achieved a record-breaking number of visitors.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced on his Telegram channel that 4.7 million people attended performances at the city’s theaters last year—100,000 more than in 2023—setting a new five-year high.

Among the most popular venues were the Moscow Operetta Theater, the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theater, the Satire Theater, and the Variety Theater.

According to Sobyanin, the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theater (MAMT) premiered eight new productions in 2024, the Moscow Operetta Theater revived its legendary staging of Mister X, and the Satire Theater completed its renovation.
