Enrique Batiz, the renowned Mexican conductor, passed away last week at the age of 82. Throughout his highly successful career, Batiz founded the Mexico National Symphony Orchestra and established an international reputation. However, his life was not without its share of conflict.

This weekend, Batiz’s family posted a notice naming 13 musicians who are prohibited from attending his funeral. The reason, according to the family, is due to circumstances known to all, and they respectfully request that the following individuals refrain from attending the funeral and burial:

Among those banned are Sabina Laurain, principal flute of the Mexico State Symphony Orchestra, and Asaf Kolerstein, the principal cellist.
