Opening Date Announced for Bolshoi Theatre Branch in Kaliningrad

The Bolshoi Theatre's branch in Kaliningrad, currently under construction on Oktyabrsky Island, is set to open by the end of 2025. This timeline was confirmed by Alexei Besprozvannykh, the acting governor of the Kaliningrad region, during a meeting with President Vladimir Putin.

In addition to the theatre, two other major cultural projects are underway in the Kaliningrad region. A museum complex, "Planet Ocean," part of the World Ocean Museum, is scheduled to open by the end of 2024, along with a branch of the Tretyakov Gallery. While the exact opening date of the gallery remains uncertain, work is progressing on the installation of a fire-fighting system and landscaping around the building.

Besprozvannykh also mentioned that the first exhibition, titled "Five Centuries of Russian Art," could be showcased as early as this winter.
