Premio Paganini Violin Competition Appoints New Artistic Director

The 57th edition of the Premio Paganini International Violin Competition will be held in Genoa, Italy from October 16-27, 2023, under the new Artistic Director, Italian violinist Nicola Bruzzo. Bruzzo, a graduate of the Conservatory of Bologna, has performed with prestigious orchestras and became joint artistic director of Ferrara Musica in 2022. He succeeds Nazzareno Carusi.

The 2024 competition jury will include Salvatore Accardo (President), Ilya Grubert, Michael Guttman, and others. Bruzzo aims to enhance the competition's interaction with the public, recognizing the importance of engaging younger audiences in classical music to combat its decline due to lacking music education.
