The SWR Vokalensemble's Russian tenor, who defended Putin's war on Facebook and wished harm upon Ukrainians, did not perform Benjamin Britten's War Requiem with Teodor Currentzis as planned.

After taking down his Facebook page following a conversation with SWR, the tenor reappeared on VK-com, posting images of tanks, a car with "S-WR" plates and a Russian flag, and himself in a Putin T-shirt.

In response, SWR announced: "Due to new findings regarding inhuman posts, SWR has released Alexander Yudenkov from all future performances with the SWR Vokalensemble. He did not perform in yesterday's War Requiem in Stuttgart. Further consequences are being considered."
