Shooting of Film About Shostakovich Postponed Again

Filming of the main part of the movie about Shostakovich will be held in the autumn, according to the film's director, Alexei Uchitel. Earlier, the director had reported that the shooting would take place in the spring

"We need to wait a little longer. The problem is that in the plot, there is a young Shostakovich and an elderly Shostakovich. Whether it will be played by one actor or two actors is the question. It hasn't been decided. We are trying modern technologies: to ‘age’ the young actor or, conversely, to ‘rejuvenate’ the old one. We have filmed part of it, but we expect to start the main stage in the autumn," said the director.

Alexei Uchitel did not reveal who will play the main character. It is known that only two test episodes have been shot so far. Uchitel previously noted that the film is not conceived as a fully biographical work but will reflect the circumstances of the composer's life that influenced his music and fate.
