Putin Names Mariinsky Theatre as One of His Favorite Places

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that he always makes time to visit the Mariinsky Theatre and considers it one of his favorite places in St. Petersburg.

On Wednesday, Putin visited the National Center “Russia.” During the tour, staff members showed him the “Journey Through Russia” exhibition, which included a photo zone recreating the interiors of the Mariinsky Theatre. This immersive setup allowed visitors to experience the atmosphere of watching the ballet The Nutcracker. A tour guide asked the president about his favorite place in his hometown, St. Petersburg.

“The Mariinsky Theatre, which you just mentioned, is one of my favorite places. The Nutcracker as well. I try to go there whenever I can,” Putin responded.
