Unhoused man in San Rafael sues East Bay Tire Company over classical music

An unhoused man in San Rafael, Bruce Gaylord, is suing East Bay Tire Company over noise from a machine that plays classical music and shouts security warnings from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Gaylord, who lives in a nearby homeless encampment, claims the noise prevented him from sleeping over the weekend. He filed the lawsuit on Monday to stop the noise, suggesting the machine be relocated. East Bay Tire's assistant manager, Robbie Derho, said the machine was installed on Friday to deter incidents from the encampment affecting their property, noting frequent clean-ups of garbage and glass.
