LOS ANGELES (February 13, 2025) – The Los Angeles Philharmonic has announced contract extensions for two of its longtime artistic partners.

LOS ANGELES (February 13, 2025) – The Los Angeles Philharmonic has announced contract extensions for two of its longtime artistic partners. Herbie Hancock will remain as Creative Chair for Jazz through May 2027, while Thomas Wilkins will continue as Principal Conductor of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra through 2028.
Wilkins has been a key figure at the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra since 2008, initially serving as Principal Guest Conductor before assuming the role of Principal Conductor in 2014. Renowned for his ability to engage and inspire audiences of all ages, he is deeply committed to fostering a lifelong appreciation for music. His dynamic presence on the podium and exceptional communication skills have made him a favorite among concertgoers.
