MIPT students have developed Audio2MIDI, a service that uses AI to convert audio recordings into musical scores, as reported by the institute's website. The tool offers musicians and composers high-accuracy transcription of complex polyphonic compositions, enabling instant piano scores.

Dmitry Protasov, the project's creator and a Russian Foundation for Promotion of Innovations grant winner, highlighted that this service democratizes music creation, making it accessible to all, regardless of musical hearing ability. Additionally, it can assist in the legal field by checking compositions for plagiarism. The service is currently free.
