New Artistic Director for Concertgebouw Orchestra

The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam (RCO) has appointed Elena Dubinets as its new artistic director, effective May 1, 2025. She succeeds Ulrike Niehoff, who stepped down in summer 2023.

Dubinets, born in Moscow in 1969, has been the artistic director of the London Philharmonic Orchestra since 2021 and previously held senior roles at the Atlanta Symphony and Seattle Symphony. RCO managing director Dominik Winterling praised her as “an exceptional new colleague” who will help strengthen the orchestra’s artistic profile and global reputation.

A graduate of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Dubinets expressed her excitement, citing the orchestra’s rich history, commitment to excellence, and engagement with living composers as key inspirations for her new role.
