World Record for Longest Accordion Concert Broken in Northern France

Christelle de Franceschi set a new world record for the longest accordion concert on Saturday in Hergnies, France, playing for 80 hours, 53 minutes, and 28 seconds. She surpassed her previous record of 75 hours, 26 minutes, and 8 seconds, set in 2022.

The concert, held in a marquee on the town square, featured a looped program lasting four to five hours. Christelle, a former music teacher, has attempted to break the record annually since 2021. This year, she underwent rigorous physical and mental training, with support from a mental coach, and only took two 12-minute naps during the three-day event.

To qualify for the Guinness World Records, Christelle's performance met strict criteria: less than 30 seconds between pieces and a maximum of five minutes' rest per hour, which she could accumulate. The entire event was filmed, and multiple witnesses verified the record. Christelle and her team are now preparing the documentation for Guinness certification. Her next goal is to play the accordion for several days while walking.
